Welcome to the Single Saints of Grove City Alliance Church, Grove City, Pa. blog. On this site we hope to share our past, present, and future activities. We are a CHRISTIAN SOCIAL GROUP, open to all Singles who are looking for fun and fellowship with other Christian singles. We have one major event each month, but often have more. Feel free to browse and if you're interested, drop us a line. Hope to see you at the next activity.

This site, I hope, will be constantly evolving, so please check back often to keep up with what's going on as well as changes and additions to content. The new monthly event will be posted the beginning of each month. Due to circumstances beyond our control, some of the events that have been scheduled have been changed or cancelled. But we will be replacing them with something just as good, or better.

If you have something that you would like to see on this site, please e-mail us with the information. We're open to suggestions

EVENT FOR SEPTEMBER, 2010

Hi Everyone,

Well, we had a most wonderful day at Presque Isle for our August adventure.  We swam, we ate, we walked the beach, we watched kites - DeEtta flew her own - Stuart and Pumpkin played in the water.  Before leaving the peninsula, we stopped to see one of the lighthouses and then went to the Perry Monument.   All in all, it was a perfectly wonderful day.  The weather was perfect and so was all the fellowship.   If you were unable to be with us, hopefully you can join us for our next adventure.   Enjoy the pictures and slideshow.

Hey Everyone!

Our day at the National Aviary on the North Side of Pittsburgh was great!  It was hot and humid - at one point the temperature registered 100* - but we still managed to enjoy ourselves immensely.  We had lunch at Phipps Conservatory, took a driving tour of the area, then headed home.  I loved listening to all the chattering fellowship as I was driving.  For those of you who missed it, I hope you will plan on joining us for our next event.  The slide show is all of the pictures I took; the large photos are a sampling.  I hope you enjoy them.

Greetings Saints!  Well, we went to McConnell's Mill and it was awesome!  We had a great picnic lunch, then we hiked down the mountain side to the mill.  The scenery, rock formations, foliage, and Slippery Rock Creek were incredible, to say the least.  It was hot and steamy, and eventually it rained, but we had a most wonderful adventure.  For those of you who couldn't make it, we're planning on a fall hike when the leaves turn, so you'll get another chance.  Four of us climbed a humongous, and I mean HUMONGOUS boulder...what a scream that was.  Pictures to prove it.  Hope you enjoy them.

JULY EVENT  -  2010

DATE:            July 24, 2010

TIME:            9:00 a.m. - Alliance Church, G.C.

WHERE:       National Aviary, North Side, Pgh.

COST:            $12    -    $11  Seniors

WEBSITE:    http://www.aviary.org/

Plan to join us for a day in feather-heaven where bird-brains rule (hmmmmm, I should feel right at home here!!!).  The National Aviary is open from 10 am to 5 pm, with a different show every hour.  But there are 2 special shows:  11 am is Raptors in Flight and 2:30 pm is the Tropical Birds in Flight I believe.  These are the highlights of the day.

I perused the site and didn't see anything that would indicate there are picnic tables, so we can either stuff ourselves before hand; stuff our pockets to eat on the way; eat at the aviary; or don't eat there at all.   If time permits, we may do a bit of sightseeing in the Pittsburgh area.

I am going to reserve the van, therefore, RSVP IS REQUIRED FOR THIS EVENT.   You can put your yea or nay in the "comments" box, call me, or e-mail, whichever you prefer.   Please try to have your RSVP in by July 17.  Thanks so much.

We will meet at and leave from the Alliance Church at 9 a.m.

Enjoy the pictures.  It was a fun day!

We had the most spectacular day at the zoo this year.  The Lord smiled on us and blessed us with a picture-perfect day, wonderful companionship and safe traveling mercies.  We praise Him and thank Him for His grace to us.  To the right are some of the pictures from that day.   I'm very sorry if you were unable to join us.  Our adventure for June will be a picnic at McConnell Mill State Park in Potersville.   This will be an all-day event, which means you can come and go as you please.

Here are 2 websites to check out for the park.
